FO summons Afghan charge d'affaires over manner to return SP Dawar's body

The spokesman hopes Afghan authorities would cooperate in ascertaining the circumstances

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Office on Thursday summoned Afghanistan’s chargé d affaires in Islamabad to register strong protest over the inordinate delay and manner of return of the body of martyred SP Tahir Dawar.

According to Dunya News sources, the foreign office summoned a written explanation over the inordinate delay and manner of return of the body of martyred SP Tahir Dawar.

FO spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal said that an official delegation was sent to Afghanistan to bring back the mortal remain of the slain police officer. 

“We lodged a protest with Afghanistan over the delay in handing over SP Dawar’s body,” he added. “We have demanded that his body be handed over to Pakistan immediately.”

The FO spokesperson further said, “Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan has also lodged a protest over the delay in the handing over of SP Dawar’s body.”

“We lodged a protest with Afghanistan over the delay in handing over SP Dawar’s body,” he added. “We have demanded that his body be handed over to Pakistan immediately.”

The spokesman hoped that Afghan authorities would fully cooperate in ascertaining the circumstances under which a Pakistani officer was found killed in Afghanistan.
